Midici and Paradise Ice-Cream

I know you guys have heard me rave more than once about how delicious Midici is and that hasn’t changed. We decided to grab dinner there and ended up getting a smoked salmon salad and our usual margarita pizza.


The smoked salmon salad was amazing! It had avocado, olives, greens, and feta and it honestly could have been a meal in itself.


The pizza…delicious as always!


Now on to the part that I am very excited about 😀 On our way to Midic I spotted this little ice-cream shop. We had a bit of wait at Midici and the whole time I was plotting to go and check out aforementioned ice-cream shop…

Lord Almighty! This place was amazing!! They make their flavors everyday and the store owners are as sweet as the ice-cream they sell. I ended up getting chocolate hazelnut and the hubs got cookies and cream and stracciatella. It was so creamy and the flavor was on point!


I feel like this is going to become a regular thing now…Midici and Paradise Ice-Cream, but it’s all balanced out by that salad we had so it’s okay 😉

Hello Fresh: Chicken Sausage Pizza

Welcome back to another meal 🙂 Today I am reviewing the pizza that we got through Hello Fresh.


In the process of washing the produce and prepping the ingredients…

I was not super excited about this one because I am not a sausage fan in general, but our last meal was super delicious so I came into it with an open mind.

This dish had a pre-made crust, zucchini (to be roasted), sausage (obviously), shredded mozz, and crushed tomatoes. It also had some fresh oregano which was so deliciously fragrant!

Prep was even more minimal with this meal than the bbq chicken dish so that was a plus. I do find chopping veggies to be soothing, but some days I’m starving and don’t have the time (or patience) to do all that work.

We also ended up making a side salad to go with this dish since it had only the pizza for your meal. Besides that, we do try to have a side of veggies with whatever meal we have so making a salad was a great way to boost our veggie intake 🙂

The pizza (which was actually more of a flat bread) was good. The roasted zucchini, tomatoes, and sausage paired very nicely to create variance in texture and flavor.

I would give this pizza a 4 out of 5 flatbreads. It was good and I would recommend, but I wouldn’t get this particular recipe again.

Hello Fresh

Hello friends! Happy Monday!!


I know it probably sounds crazy, but we decided to try yet another meal subscription plan. I don’t know if we just had high expectations, but Blue Apron just didn’t blow us away so we opted out and went on the hunt for another box.


We saw many good reviews for this one and decided to go for it. Right off the bat during the ordering process we weren’t super excited about any of the meal options, but decided to go ahead and give them a fair chance.

We picked a chicken dish, pizza, and burger and it all came to our house in a nice little box. Everything was packaged, insulated, and iced appropriately.



I liked that they had all the ingredients for each dish in it’s own bag so you didn’t have to even take time to sort out what went with what.


There were recipe cards for each dish and a completely different card for the nutrition facts. They included nutrition facts for ALL the meals that were available that week-not just the ones that we ordered.


I’m planning on posting reviews for all the dishes like I did with Blue Apron so I hope you’ll come along for our food journey!
