Recent Dessert Faves

Let me make this super duper clear people these are not all of my favorite desserts. THAT would take a book and nobody got time for that…

IMG-20180629-WA0000

While recently drooling over some food porn on my phone I couldn’t get dessert outta my head and now that I am typing this I am panicking thinking about all the delicious desserts I am about to miss because I have no recent pics….let’s take some deeeeeeeeep breaths iin and ouut phewwww

Okay let’s get on with the yumminess

This matcha soft serve from Tea Master is everything. The creamy texture and the potent matcha flavor combine to create this cool, light, and irresistible creation.

IMG-20180629-WA0010

Donuts from SK Donuts make me super happy. Donuts from Sidecar also make me happy, but I have no recent pictures. Major takeaway? I love donuts.

20180622_224953.jpg

This next one might not be technically a dessert, BUT it is sweet. I love pan fried plantains especially the perfectly ripened ones because they tend to be sweeter. It’s slightly crisp on the outside and sweet and soft on the inside. I would eat these all day!

20180623_170305

We’ve already talked about Somi Somi in a previous post so I won’t bore you with details, but if you haven’t tried this then what are you doing??

20180624_124057

Happy Days Cafe makes a mean churro, but did you know they make churro donuts coated in chocolate and sprinkles and you can add cookies n’ cream ice-cream to the side? Also, whipped cream.

20180623_232829

Tell me about your favorite desserts or if you’re like me and change your mind every minute what is/are your current favorite dessert(s)! Pleeeeaseeee and thank you ๐Ÿ™‚

More Eating (SF Part 4)

Thanks for coming back for Part 4 of our SF trip! This will be the last post…I promise ๐Ÿ™‚ Grab some tea and lets get started!

After Alcatraz we took the ferry back and I was ready for some food! We went to Boudin which is famous for their sourdough bread.

They make all kinds of fun shaped sourdough bread, but we went for a turkey and havarti sandwich on sourdough (duh!) and tomato soup in a sourdough bread bowl.

20180518_154647

The sandwich tasted SO delicious to me, but the hubs said it may have been because I was SO hungry. I loved the soup too, but I don’t think I am a bread bowl gal which seems crazy since I LOVE bread.

We walked some more after lunch to find dessert and we hit up not one, but two spots!

The first being Trish’s Mini Donuts who has these mini donuts sprinkled with sugar-they were hot and fresh and yummy!

20180518_160349

The second was a cookie dough place called Doughp. We had been wanting to try out a cookie dough place and now seemed like the perfect time since it was in walking distance. We got the PB cookie dough and put sprinkles and PB sauce on it.

20180518_161647

It was also really good! If you love cookie dough then check it out!!

We kept walking and stumbled into these guys…

20180518_164421

After this we perused some of the stores on the Pier and then kept walking. We went to find other touristy things to do and ended up walking up a very steep hill to get to one particular tourist destination.

20180518_173332

Lombard Street!

20180518_174217

I know this isn’t the best pic of it, but it’s this cool super curvy street that also happens to be really beautiful.

You guys, we were plain worn out after all this walking. We walked back to our cars and decided to go to a comedy show so we could finally just chill!

Since we had some time to kill we did the rest of our sight seeing in the comfort of our car until it was showtime. I really enjoyed the comedy show and it was a really good break for our tired legs!

Dinner ended up being late and I had been feeling kind of sick so we went for ramen at Marufuku. We ended up getting takoyaki for our app and two bowls of chicken ramen.

IMG-20180520-WA0046

The hubs and I got the same thing, but he got the fancier version with a whole piece of chicken on the side!

20180518_222442

I don’t know if you can guess what we had after dinner? If you guessed Fenton’s you would be so right. I got the same blueberry cheesecake flavor that I fell in love with that first night.

20180518_225657

We went back to our AirBNB and crashed so hard that night!

We had so much fun in SF and I hope you guys get to visit if you haven’t had the chance! Let me know if you have been to any of these places and what you thought or if there are any places we missed that we should check out or our next trip.

See you Friday!

To Prison We Went (SF Part 3)

If you’ve stuck along this far on my SF posts I appreciate it! There will be a SF Part 4 on Wednesday because after typing up this post I noticed how long it was and decided to make it two smaller posts. Let’s jump into it!

We started our morning pretty early and went to grab coffee and split some sort of breakfast. We came to a spot pretty close to our AirBNB and had a couple of almond milk lattes. These were yummy!

20180518_092556

Upon perusing the menu we decided to split an egg and cheese sammich which ended up being a little dry, but made the hunger bug go away so I can’t complain…

20180518_092637

The reason we were having small breakfasts was so we could go and check out Donut Savant. We had read many good things and wanted to eat all of the donuts (per usu).

We ended up with half a dozen:ย 1 regular glazed cronut,ย 1 cinnamon sugar cronut,ย 1 mini chocolate glaze cronut,ย 1 mini maple cronut, 1 mini maple pecan cake donut, andย 1 coconut cake donut.

20180518_100102

They were simple and delicious!

After this we drove to our next adventure, but since we had some time before it we parked and perused the pier and Ghirardelli Square. We did end up getting some chocolates for munching on later…how could we not?

20180518_193647

After all this walking we walked some more to get to our ferry that was going to be taking us to Alcatraz!

IMG-20180520-WA0002

If you ever go to SF I think this is something touristy and fun that I would recommend. Wear comfortable shoes because there are stairs and some up hill and down hill walking.

20180518_131841

We got headphones that led us through the tour which was great because you learned some things and since everyone started it at different times you had time to look at all the things.

20180518_133902

The tour was really interesting and really brought the place to life. I seriously couldn’t recommend it enough!

20180518_140248

We enjoyed it so much we end up getting this cup as a souvenir so we could remember our time at Alcatraz!

20180602_135727

That’s where I will be ending this post, but stay tuned for the next one to find out what happens after Alcatraz ๐Ÿ™‚

See you lovelies Wednesday!

Half Day in the Life

I thought it would be fun to bring you guys along for a part day in the life! We had a pretty fun and active day with some good eats so why not share it? Right?!

We started our morning off with a workout at the gym. We had planned on a hike after so we grabbed some food from a Starbucks drive through.

The egg white, spinach, feta wrap for B

20180513_114043

The egg white, turkey bacon, and cheese sandwich for me

20180513_114032

And a berry trio yogurt to share!

I’m not into eating egg whites alone, but I really enjoy it from Starbucks. Is that weird?!

We went for this beautiful hike in Eaton Park and eventually got to this beautiful fall. It’s not a crazy big one, but I still love it. The view was gorgeous and it was a fun and pretty easy hike!

20180513_133248

Post hike we went and grabbed lunch from this waffle place-Wahfles. We got the Scarlette Johanson (the chicken) and the Penn Steak (the beef). Both were good!

20180513_153953

20180513_154030

We did not get a sweet waffle from here because we had one more stop before heading back home…

Donut Man!

20180513_161354

We wanted to save our sweet teeth for these donuts. We got quite a few, but we both loved the cinnamon crumb the best ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you enjoyed this part day in the life! What have you been up to today? Let me know in the comments below!

Brunch at Ingo’s

My belief is that if you want to catch up with a friend it is best to do it with food and if it can be at brunch time that would be optimal ๐Ÿ˜€

Needless to say that this moment came to fruition so off to brunch we went at Ingo’s.

Our friend got a scramble and we shared the eggs benny and shakshuka.

We opted for crab with our eggs benny and it was rich, creamy and delicious.

20180506_115049

Shakshuka is a tomato based egg dish and was bright and flavorful.

20180506_115038

Post brunch we were needing something sweet to balance all those savory flavors so we decided to go to Sidecar.

I love Sidecar and I think they have some of the most delicious donuts ever.

We ended up with a box of 4: original glazed, old fashioned, Mexican hot chocolate, and a churro donut.

20180506_124448

The original glazed was fluffy and soft and melt in your mouth, the old fashioned had a good nutmeg flavor, but my favorite was the churro. The hubs loved the Mexican hot chocolate!

Hole Foods

I thought it would be fun to share snaps from this weekend of eating! If you’re about that clean eating life donut worry because we ate so many colors ๐Ÿ˜…

Morning coffee in this adorable new Target mug

20180421_074434

Workout and breakfast at the gym! This breakfast burrito had scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, cheddar cheese, and potatoes. So, so good.

20180421_091800

After showers we headed out to Colorado Donuts and indulged in these babies:

20180421_123716

Later on we split some tacos from our favorite vegan joint-Organix. It was so good I ๐Ÿฉ have the words to ๐ŸŒฎ about it!

20180421_160048

I ended up having some unpictured T-Bell and we shared some macarons and ‘buch for dessert #health

We did some grocery shopping Sunday and found these delicious honey mangos at Sprout’s and bought some. They were so sweet and yummy!

20180422_121543

We ended up going to the Grove and I had my first beignet…

This beautiful, doughy, pillowy glazed creation ๐Ÿ˜

And some treats from Dominque Ansel bakery. We got the DKA which is a flaky, caramelized croissant creation. The green and white thing is this matcha and passion fruit mousse thing which was amazing in all it’s flavors and textures. They were passing out madeleines to sample so we had one of those too!

20180422_162215

Donut judge ๐Ÿ˜‚, but we kept the hole food eating going by swinging through California Donuts

20180422_171302

We ended up holding on to the donuts until after dinner…we had Vito’s pizza which was incredible as always!

IMG-20180423-WA0026

If you’ve made it through this many puns than share with me some of your favorite food puns in the comments below! Thanks for sticking it out, you donut know how much it means ๐Ÿ˜

Weekend

I LOVE weekends especially when the hubs and I are off together! We always get into some shenanigans and eat some fun things!

Here’s a weekend recap:

We started Saturday with a workout and brunch! Brunch included breakfast burritos (veggie and hot link-hot link was the fave)

IMG-20180207-WA0017

and shared a donut all from Cofax

IMG-20180207-WA0014

We ended up walking around the area for a while and checked out some fun shops and ran into this cool huge tree–this pic isn’t doing justice to how big it really was.

IMG-20180207-WA0011

After all that walking I was craving some ice-cream and this place really hit the spot!

IMG-20180207-WA0009

Since brunch was so late we didn’t have too much of an appetite by the time it was dinner so we had a meal of bread, butter, brie, and olives. I was floored my husband was down to have this as a meal…but I think he enjoyed it ๐Ÿ™‚

IMG-20180207-WA0008

We ended up catching a comedy show at the Comedy Store! The hubs is a fan of Chris D’elia and that’s the main reason we picked this specific show.

IMG-20180207-WA0007

We ended up staying up pretty late and so we got kind of a late start Sunday morning. We woke up and went to workout.

Post workout we grabbed McDonald’s. I can’t tell you how long it’s been since we’ve had Mickey D’s, but I will say the fries are still bomb!

IMG-20180207-WA0004

Post Mickey D’s we went for a nice hike. It was such a gorgeous day and we wanted to be as active as possible!

IMG-20180207-WA0003

Look at us looking our best! HA!

IMG-20180207-WA0005

That’s my “I’m on top of the world” pose

The hike was also to prepare us for these donuts from DK Donuts…

IMG-20180207-WA0019

IMG-20180207-WA0020

We picked up some groceries and drove home to chill and relax before the work week! I cannot remember to save my life what we ended up eating that night, but I’m gonna say it was something low-key.

What did you guys do this weekend? Let me know in the comments below!

Maui Day 4

Remember those donuts I told you about in Day 2? Well on day 4 we woke up nice and early to get those same donuts! We drove to Donut Dynamite to check out their brioche donuts…yes BRIOCHE.

The owner was so nice and went in depth to explain each of her donuts and how each ingredient makes the texture and flavor of each one unique. It was such a great experience and we even met a local Donut Dynamite lover!

I’m trying to recall the flavors we picked, but I believe we got a Samoa, a lillikoi filled (passionfruit), a calamansi glazed, mango glaze, cinnamon roll, vanilla bean, and brown butter?!

IMG-20180114-WA0053

I got some coffee from there and we decided to share a donut before heading to the gym. We split the vanilla bean and it was amazing! If you ever get to try this place check them out! So amazing and so worth it!

IMG-20180114-WA0009

Post workout we checked out Like Poke?-a poke truck that had some amazing reviews. Driving here we had no idea it would be a truck, but it was neat to see that there were actually a few different trucks all parked together.

IMG-20180114-WA0004

It was a Monday, but there were so many people here to grab lunch. It was super windy, but they had tables set up underneath a tent type situation.

IMG-20180114-WA0006

We got 2 poke bowls and the furikake fries which were incredible!

IMG-20180120-WA0001

We ended up trying all the donuts for our dessert. The lilikoi and calamansi were tangy, but the mild brioche added a nice contrast to the bright flavors. The mango was sweet and fruity. Each one was so true to flavor!

IMG-20180114-WA0054

We went home to get cleaned up because we had made plans to go to the Warren and Annabelle show. I’m not going to go into too many details about the show or this night. I don’t want to ruin it for those who want to see it.

We had some appetizers at the restaurant before heading in for the show…

IMG-20180114-WA0007

It was a really cool experience because we got picked along with 3 other couples to sit at the front and help with the show! We got to pick cards, answer questions, pop balloons. Both comedian magicians were hilarious and fun to watch!

IMG-20180114-WA0008

The show ended early enough so we were able to make it to Poi by the Pound for a late dinner! Just like the first night we got the Loco Moco on our last night in Maui ๐Ÿ™‚

IMG-20180114-WA0002

We also stopped for some Paia Gelato…we couldn’t resist!

Our night ended with some last minute packing and a few quick zs before an early wakeup for our flight back home!

I hope you guys enjoyed the Maui blogs. I know it made me happy to relive all these moments with you guys! It was honestly a great trip and I can’t wait till our next big adventure, but for now it’s nice to be home ๐Ÿ™‚

I also wanted to shout out my very sweet husband who took the time to take these gorgeous pictures while we were in Maui! He is seriously the best!! Thank you babe for being the greatest most supportive hubs ever!!

That wraps it up and I’ll see you lovelies on Wednesday!

Maui Day 2

Day 2 in Maui we decided to kick things off with coffee and a workout! Maui Coffee Roasters was honestly one of my most favorite cups of coffee while we were there. It was smooth and potent!

IMG-20180114-WA0038

Voted the best coffee on Maui? I think so!

I also loved that almond milk was available at every shop no matter how small. They had it out with their sugars and creamers so you could help yourself!

We worked out at the Y in Kahalui if you were curious. We called to see how much the cost would be and they were so nice that they said they would give us a free 3 day trial. It was a great place to go and get in a quick workout.

Trust me, we needed some serious physical activity considering how much food we were eating/planning on eating!

After our workout we were starving (by we I mean “I was starving”) so we decided on Tin Roof. Tin Roof is this tiny restaurant that serves up Hawaiian comfort food. They are quick and efficient which is great because this place was poppin’ and as I mentioned before it’s small so it gets crowded quick!

IMG-20180114-WA0036

We got the Mochiko Chicken and Chop Steak both topped with a 1 minute egg.

img-20180114-wa0040.jpg

The Mochiko Chicken was the sweeter of the two and the hubs loved it!

The Chop Steak was savory and delicious and my favorite ๐Ÿ™‚

IMG-20180114-WA0041

We had some fails after this because there was a farmer’s market we wanted to go to, but you had to pay .50 cents to get in and we had no change and no cash. It was going to close soon so we decided to keep on keepin’ on.

Next we wanted to check out Donut Dynamite, but they had sold out and closed as well. We were super disappointed (but no worries because we did make it there)!

We instead went to Kumu Farms and got pineapple, passionfruit, and a young coconut to drink.

IMG-20180114-WA0042

Next to Kumu Farms was another store and we ended up getting coconut candy, salt water taffy, and this delicious bar. I don’t remember what it was called, but it had macadamia nuts, chocolate, and other goodness!

IMG-20180114-WA0034

Home Maid Bakery was our next stop for some malasadas. We got one plain and one filled! Both were covered in sugar causing quite the delicious mess.

We were both tired and in need of naps and showers so we drove home and got cleaned up for a romantic night at Mama’s Fish House!

I’m actually going to wrap this post up here and make Mama’s Fish House a post all on it’s own because it hands down deserves it.

I’ll see you guys at Mama’s on Wednesday ๐Ÿ˜‰ till then hugs and love!

Century City Mall

I’m sure you have noticed, but when the hubs and I have a couple of days off together we like to go exploring. Lucky for us California has some great spots to explore ๐Ÿ™‚

I know that a mall isn’t some great big expedition, but we really enjoy mall walking (don’t judge!) and so off to Century City we went.

IMG-20171226-WA0052

It is a really pretty mall and it has some amazing stores, but we went to walk and window shop.

We ended up stopping at Randy’s for a couple of donuts-the graham sugar topped one was the favorite.

IMG-20171226-WA0053

Top is blueberry cake and bottom is the graham streusel

We also had Shake Shack and a slice of cheese from Gelson’s ๐Ÿ˜€

IMG-20171226-WA0051

We had to stop by Eataly and check out all the breads and cheeses and pastas.

How could we leave without some dreamy Italian chocolates?

IMG-20171226-WA0059

I think Eataly was my favorite part (are we surprised?). Let me know if you’ve had a chance to go to Eataly or enjoy mall walking as much as we do!

Till next time guys and gals!
